THE COV COLLECTION

Creative Giants are set to launch ‘THE COV COLLECTION’ – a print publishing initiative featuring artists that have contributed to the Coventry city centre’s rejuvenation through their new public artwork commissions, commission by Coventry City Council public realm.  ‘THE COV COLLECTION’ aims to provide a legacy opportunity for the artists and a souvenir for art lovers. Working with city partners Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry BID and local print company Common Ground the new initiative will contribute creative economy and the visual art market in the city.

The series launches with an exclusive work from Morag Myerscough, an opportunity for people to take home a piece of the new iconic artwork ‘Endless Ribbon Connecting Us’ that Morag has created for Coventry in the lead up to our City of Culture year. The artwork wraps around the inside of Hertford Street canopy, with seemingly no beginning or end – breathing a new vibrancy into the space that now houses the Coventry City of Culture shop, where you will be able to purchase the prints.

As well as the limited-edition piece, Morag has also created an open edition typography piece entitled ‘Love Cov’, the perfect gift or keepsake for both Coventry residents and visitors to the city.

In the coming months, Creative Giants will be releasing more limited edition prints by local artist Matt Chu who created ‘At one with Cofa’s Tree on Pepper Lane’. Angry Dan, whose whimsical limerick mural has now lamented the life of James Starley – cycle inventor from Coventry.

THE COV COLLECTION will also feature an open edition tile created by renowned ceramicist Carrie Reichardt, whose Two-Tone mural now graces the exterior of Pool Meadow Bus Station.
